Salad Bars in Schools


PBH's groundbreaking salad bar and salad options pilot program in Florida schools increased students' fruit and vegetable consumption with cafeteria promotions, classroom curricula and student taste tests. Overall results? Everyone gave us an A+!

Fruit and vegetable consumption increased 9-31%.
The number of servings chosen increased by 10%.
Plate waste fell; some schools saw 12-26% increases in the number of kids eating all the fruits and vegetables they were served.
