Happy Holidays from PBH

From PBH’s Annual Conference to the Supermarket RD Symposium at Fresh Summit; the inaugural Fruit and Veggie Connection publication to the continued growth of PBH’s social media footprint – 2013 has been “fruitful”! As a donor of Produce for Better Health Foundation, you can be excited and proud of the work you are supporting to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, consumer education and awareness, and ultimately a healthier America.

As we close out 2013 and prepare to usher in 2014, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the many organizations and individuals for their steadfast dedication and commitment to PBH and Fruit & Veggie—More Matters®. Thank you to our Ambassadors, Role Models, and Champions who continue to be awesome surrogates promoting PBH and the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters brand and message across the country. PBH also thanks dietitians and other health professionals for helping to make eating more fruits and vegetables a priority in the minds of the communities they serve, and for passing on the message of better health through eating more nutritious, delicious fruits and vegetables. Collectively, we continue to make a difference through principled advocacy, and a clear and consistent message that including fruit and vegetables - at every eating occasion – is easy to do and matters for better health.

PBH is widely regarded as a leading voice for fruit and vegetable education, information, and resources. The continued support of all our donors remains crucial to PBH's success, to the health of Americans, and to the health of the fruit and vegetable industry.

Here's wishing you a happy, healthy holiday season and all the best for a bountiful New Year!

Jonah Berger to Keynote 2014 Consumer Connection Conference

Early bird registration is still available -- until January 1st -- for the 2014 Annual Conference at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas in Scottsdale, Arizona, from March 17-19.

Jonah Berger, best-selling author of Contagious: Why Things Catch On, and an expert on how products and ideas become popular through word of mouth will be the keynote speaker for this year’s conference. An associate professor at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Berger will talk about how to craft contagious ideas, using 6 key factors or STEPPS: social currency, triggers, emotion, public, practical value, and stories. You’ll learn a set of specific, actionable techniques you can use whether selling a product, crafting a new corporate culture, or just trying to get the word out.

Register now to take advantage of the discounts and secure your spot for The Consumer Connection Conference. The schedule for this three-day event includes two sessions of our popular Business Exchange Roundtables for sponsors and retailers, over four hours of educational sessions focused on marketing and consumption strategies, and our one-of-a-kind Walkabout Market Dinner that features each form of fruit and vegetable prepared in various ways—as appetizers, soups, entrĂ©es, desserts—sure to satisfy every palate.

PBH Webinars Popular with Dietitians and Health Professionals

On November 20th PBH hosted its fifth and final webinar of 2013, in partnership with Egg Nutrition Center, entitled: Building a Better Breakfast with High-Quality Protein and Produce. President and CEO Elizabeth Pivonka Ph.D., R.D. moderated the discussion and Neva Hudiburgh Cochran, MS, RDN, LD Nutrition Communications Consultant presented the latest research on how high-quality protein paired with fruits and vegetables can influence nutrient adequacy, satiety and health.
