PBH Unveils New Fruits & Veggies—More Matters® Consumer Website

PBH is a trusted advocate of fruits and vegetables, and is committed to delivering current, reliable content directly to the consumer. We recently unveiled our updated consumer website, making news, tips, and recipes around fruits and vegetables easily accessible. PBH understands the importance of keeping the look and content of the website fresh and relevant, especially in today’s online social world of communication.

The updated site focuses on enhancing the online experience of site visitors through new features such as new shortcuts and navigation to make it easy and simple to find information and move through the site, a recipe center where registered users can save and share their favorite recipes, and a popular features section on the home page. The site has also been optimized so it can be easily viewed on mobile devices.

High-Visibility Benefits Available through PBH’s Consumer Connection Conference

PBH’s 2014 Annual Conference: The Consumer Connection provides a premier opportunity for sponsors to take advantage of exclusive benefits. The Consumer Connection is more than a meeting, hosting over 200 leaders of the fruit and vegetable industry, and providing effective marketing strategies to increase consumption and sales from industry experts. In addition to high-visibility benefits, certain levels of sponsorship receive direct access and one-on-one time with more than 30 corporate-level supermarket retailers and foodservice operators.

For detailed information about all sponsorship opportunities, please visit the sponsorships section of our event website, or contact our Development Department.

PBH to host Supermarket Dietitians at Fresh Summit

For the second consecutive year, PBH will once again host a small group of supermarket dietitians at the largest produce trade show in the United States, PMA’s Fresh Summit, October 17-20, 2013 in New Orleans.

Eighty percent of fruit and vegetables are purchased through grocery retailers, and working with supermarket dietitians is essential to increasing sales, as they do directly communicate with the consumer and suggest your products. This event will allow attendees and sponsors to gain key insights into the top-line issues surrounding fruits and vegetables, and learn how to best interact with customers utilizing communication strategies and tactics. Invaluable networking sessions are also a key part of the agenda, providing the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships while establishing new contacts.

Freshen Up & Pin Up Pinterest Challenge Gaining Traction

Fruits & Veggies—More Matters® month is here, and our Freshen Up & Pin Up Consumer Challenge is well underway. With over 1,000 Pinners following the challenge board, we are looking forward to seeing the fruit and veggie creations!

The idea behind the challenge is to have consumers pin photos of their plates, bowls, etc. showing how they ‘freshened up’ a meal or snack by making half of it fruit and veggies. The Freshen Up & Pin Up challenge board went live September 1. Winners will be objectively selected after October 1, based on the total number of likes and repins, and have a chance to win one of five cash prizes. See our website for more information about the challenge.

Utilize our handy toolkit to support the challenge by sharing on your website or social media pages. The efforts of any company helping PBH to promote the Freshen Up & Pin Up challenge will be counted towards that organization earning Champion or Role Model status in 2013.

PBH Connects with Audience through Instagram

PBH has expanded its social media efforts once again; this time via Instagram. Instagram is a premier photo-sharing application that allows users to share photos of family, food, fun occasions, or just anything out of the norm. As of late, the platform has been used by businesses to fuel website traffic, launch contests, create awareness, and sell products.

PBH uses this platform to share sponsored Half Your Plate recipes, and other eye-catching food photos. If you are already on Instagram, we would love to share or support any campaigns you are promoting as well. You can follow PBH on Instagram at @fruitsandveggiesmorematters. To collaborate on promotions, contact Sharese Alston.
