Exposing the Menu Gap Making the case to put more fruits and vegetables on American menus
Most Americans eat fruits and vegetables at home.
Yet only about half eat them while dining out -
because
they don't find appealing options on the menu, if any options at all. PBH's
2004 research report (members only) exposes occasions to close the fruit and vegetable
opportunity gap at foodservice, increasing consumption - and foodservice sales - in
the process.
This research was collected in 2003 for PBH by NPD
FoodWorldŽ Research Group, Food Beat Inc., and The HALE Group. It was
made possible by support from Produce Marketing Association and the Florida
Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
