Moving fruits and vegetables onto America's plates

Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) is a non-profit education foundation and a leader in fruit and vegetable education and nutrition marketing. Since 1991, Produce for Better Health Foundation has been working hard to achieve its core purpose:

Motivating people to eat more fruits and vegetables to improve public health

“Today’s kids may be the first generation in history whose life expectancy is projected to be less than that of their parents.” –Dr. David Katz, Yale public-health expert

Time, June 7, 2004, “How We Grew So Big”

According to a report published in the New England Journal of Medicine in March of 2005, the current generation of children is predicted to live shorter life spans than their parents because of obesity. Childhood obesity has more than doubled in the past 25 years, and childhood diabetes has increased 10-fold in the past 20 years. (Olshansky et al).

“Members Make a Difference”

“Produce for Better Health Foundation’s annual research provides foodservice operators with timely information that helps them respond to growing consumer desire to eat more healthfully. We look forward to working with PBH to communicate this information to leaders in the foodservice industry, and to develop other long-term initiatives to bring the flavors of fruits and vegetable to the menu.” --Greg Drescher, senior director of strategic initiatives, Culinary Institute of America
