Join the Celebration for Fruits & Veggies—More Matters® Month

September is Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month and Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) is celebrating with a ‘Fuel Up with Every Form' toolkit and an integrated social media program. The toolkit incorporates ad slicks, memes, social media posts, POS or price signs, and a calendar listing the fruit and vegetable PBH will be highlighting daily. These elements are the perfect tools for retailers, processors, supermarket dietitians, and other health professionals to use in their consumer outreach efforts throughout Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month.

A different form of fruit and vegetables (fresh, frozen, canned, dried and 100% juice) will be featured each week on the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, platforms.

  • Week 1 - Fresh
  • Week 2 - Frozen
  • Week 3 - Canned
  • Week 4 - Dried
  • Week 5 - 100% Fruit and Vegetable juice

A post and collage image of the fruit and vegetable, along with a recipe will be featured each day to encourage consumers to eat more fruit and vegetables. Each post and meme will also provide helpful selection and storage tips. You can also celebrate Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month by:

  • Linking to www.FruitsAndVeggiesMoreMatters.org from your website and join the 3,000+ sites that already benefit from our fruit and vegetable information portal.
  • Informing others that September is Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month and encouraging them to eat just one more fruit or vegetable.
  • Encouraging others to try a new fruit and vegetable. At www.FruitsAndVeggiesMoreMatters.orgyou will find selection, storage, and preparation tips for more than 100 fruits and vegetables.
  • Championing a ‘fruit and vegetable' challenge in your workplace to see who can eat the most fruit and vegetables during September.

    Professional Ambassador Program Debut

PBH recently developed a program to encourage the younger generation of nutrition professionals to join with us as a PBH Professional Ambassador to help us increase fruit and vegetable consumption for America's health. The program falls in-line with PBH's industry Ambassador program, as well as the other recognition programs such as Supermarket Dietitian of the Year, and Fruits & Veggies—More Matters Champions and Role Models.

To be considered a PBH Professional Ambassador, an individual must complete 10 items supporting PBH's mission and the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters national health campaign. Examples include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Become familiar with the many available resources PBH offers on its websites.
    • Stay informed of PBH news, activities, and resources by signing up to receive e-communications.
    • Promote Fruits & Veggies—More Matters with peers and colleagues at the collegiate and community levels.
    • Follow our social media platforms and share the information with your friends.

    PBH Recognition Programs
